Lawrence Edward Butcher

Lawrence Edward Butcher, 97, of Parkersburg, passed away January 21, 2026, at the Milestone Senior Assisted Living. He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Harvey D. and Arietta J. (Shaffer) Butcher.

He was a tree trimmer for twenty-seven years and worked at a dairy for thirty-two years. He was an avid fisher and woodworker and enjoyed making cedar chests and kids toys. He loved feeding the animals.

He is survived by two sons Mark Thomas Butcher (Fran) of Cleveland, OH and Brian Butcher of Willoughby, OH; daughter Connie Adams of Perry, OH; stepdaughter Loretta Ferguson of Ohio; sister Myrna Giffin of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Keith Butcher; and brothers Floyd, Okey, Paul, Roger, and Robert Butcher.

There will be no visitation or services. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
