Joyce S. Beck

Joyce S. Beck of Mineral Wells, died January 11, 2026, after a short illness. She was born on November 5, 1949 in Wirt County, West Virginia to the late George and Beulah Monroe.

Joyce grew up in Wirt County, graduating as Salutatorian in her graduating class of 1968. She attended and graduated from Glenville State College.

Joyce met the love of her life, Jack Beck, in junior high school. Transfers of schools did not keep them separated for long. Joyce and Jack had 44 years of a loving marriage. Jack preceded Joyce in death September 25, 2016.

Joyce and her husband had many adventures. Joyce was captain of the boat while Jack dove for treasure in their many SCUBA diving trips.

In her lifetime, Joyce served many positions and retired from DuPont. She loved her family and gave caring support to her mother and older sister.

Joyce enjoyed hobbies of reading, working puzzles and gardening, keeping up with her large property. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the cabin and the farm, playing cards with sister-in-law Penny Woolley and discussing her favorite TV shows with family.

Joyce is survived by siblings Ron Miller (fiance Sharon), Don (Kay) Miller, Linda (Russ) Weaver, Patsy (Rufus) Hall, Roger Monroe, Shirley Davis, Larry (Cindy) Monroe. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters Loretta Hafle and Nelda Null and niece Jennifer Grim.

Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family. There will be no service at this time.
