George Ray VanMatre, 83, of Mason passed away Jan. 17, 2026, at Pleasant Valley/Rivers Health Hospital, Point Pleasant, following an extended illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason. Burial will follow in Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, with military and fireman rites. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
