Enidine Beal James

Enidine Beal James departed her 92-year-old earthly life at her daughter’s residence on January 7, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on August 2, 1933, in Frametown, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest Goff Beal and Winnie Eufamia (Boggs) Beal.

She worked over 60 years as a babysitter providing care and love to hundreds of children in Parkersburg. She was affectionately known to them as Momma James until her retirement at the age of 82. She was a United Methodist by faith until recently when she became a member of the Trinity Christian Church in South Parkersburg. She had served in nearly every capacity on the committees of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Vernon Paul James, four sisters, five brothers and one grandson.

She is survived by their five children: Connie (Charles) Furbee of Washington, WV; Ramona Harper of Parkersburg; Gregory (Vicki) James of Mineral Wells; Jeffrey (Jodie) James of Vincent, OH and Renee (Steve) Ingram of Parkersburg; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

She was a long-term resident of Rockland Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation in Belpre, Ohio where she became “Grandma” to the caretakers. The family will be forever grateful to those professionals and the many friends she made during her time there. She called Rockland Ridge home. The family would also like to thank the CVICU staff at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and the caretakers of Amedisys Hospice Care.

Services will be Monday 11:00 am at Trinity Christian Church in South Parkersburg with Pastor Mike Kidd officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Enidine requested donations be made to Boys Town in memory of her, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010.
