Barbara Jane Hayhurst

Barbara Jane Hayhurst, 85 of Parkersburg passed away January 19, 2026 at the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV.

She was born in Tyler County, WV. July 7, 1940 the daughter of the late Cloyd “Tobe” and Georgia “Opal” McHenry Duty.

She had worked in banking for 53 years retiring from United Bank in Parkersburg.

In her younger years she was an accomplished roller skater and loved spending time skating. She was an avid music lover enjoying The Beatles and Eagles the most. She had a wonderful work ethic with her job and at home and loved caring for her family and their friends and being a “neighborhood mom”.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul C. Hayhurst of Parkersburg; Her children, Charles Hayhurst of Washington, WV. Lisa Hayhurst of Parkersburg and Brian Hayhurst of Parkersburg. Her grandchildren, Ryan and Carmen Joachim. Her sister, Sandra Edge (Randy). Her brothers, Robert Duty, William Duty and Michael Duty.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Palmer “Bud” Duty.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00am at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with her brother, William Duty officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00pm
