Mildred Arlene Pennock

Mildred Arlene Pennock, 94, of Beverly, Ohio, died on December 4, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Arlene was born to Henry Truman Wagner and Dorothy Barnes Wagner on February 11, 1931 in Waterford, Ohio. She married Robert B. Pennock on April 17, 1949 and lived in the Beverly/Waterford area her entire life. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1948 and Hocking Technical College with an associate degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management in 1975. Arlene served as Village of Beverly clerk for several years and on Village of Beverly Council. She was a member of Beverly Methodist Church and served her community as a lifetime member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 389. She held many offices and chairmanships including District and Unit President, Toys For Children Chairman, Dinner Chairman, and volunteered at Buckeye Girls State. She received numerous awards for her volunteerism including the Waterford Grange Community Service Person of the Year Award in 2006, the Muskingum Valley Area Community Service Award in 2008, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit Member of the Year Award.

Arlene is survived by her three children Cheryl Baxter (Bill) of Parkersburg, WV, Robert N. Pennock (Mary Ann) and Pamela Jackson of Beverly, OH; six grandchildren Carrie Smith (Brent), Jared Evans (Angie), Rudy Pennock (Ashleigh), Roxanne Heiss (Alex), Megan Pennock (J.D.), and Taylor Pugh (Joe); three step-grandchildren Todd Baxter (Buffy), Bill Baxter II (Linda), and Jess Jackson (Caitie); great grandchildren Jacob Smith, Maddie Evans (Brenden), Rylee Childers (Jude), Jackson Evans, Finnley, Evie, and Hadleigh Pennock, Abram and Adele Heiss, Charlotte Pugh, Brandon Baxter (Gabby), Devon and Bailey Baxter, Graysen Tilton, Ashlyn and Scarlett Jackson; step-brother Jeff Babcock (Pam); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; sister Ruth Ann Croy; step-mother Luann Wagner; father and mother-in-law Harry and Marie Pennock; brothers-in-law Russell Pennock (Edna Phillis), Francis Pennock (Mary Lou), Dean Pennock, Bill Blackford, Alan Croy; sisters-in-law Helen Lewis (Charles) and Eleanor Pennock; and son-in-law Mark Jackson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 9, 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at McCurdy Funeral Home, 309 Sixth St., Beverly, OH. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 10, 11:00 am at Beverly Methodist Church, 700 Park St., Beverly, OH, with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery.
