Marvin Sams

Marvin Eugene Sams born 9/22/1939, son of the late Clarence and Freda Sams, passed away on 12/10/25. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy M. (Brown) Sams and two brothers Gary and Erroll Sams.

He is survived by daughters Pamela Mick (Robert) of Stokesdale, NC, Cathe Cooper (John) of Cincinnati, OH and Michelle Swick (David) of Wilmington, NC, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and sister, Debbie Reed (Dave) of The Villages, FL. He was an active member of the Belpre Church of Christ for over 60 years. He retired from Dupont after 22 years of service. He served as president of the Parkersburg Yacht Club for 15 years and was a member for 52 years. He was a lifetime member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary reaching the Captain level. He was active in the community with Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Belpre Lights and Belpre Historical Museum.

A visitation will be held on Friday 12/12/25 from 6-8 PM and 10:00-11:00 on 12/13/25 with the funeral service at 11:00 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre.
