Tammy Louise Morton, 65, of Belpre, Ohio, died on November 21, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Parkersburg, WV, on August 4, 1960, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise Morton. She graduated from Belpre High School in 1978 and Marietta College in 1982 with a degree in Computer Science. She worked for the Bureau of Public Dept for 26 years and retired in 2014. Tammy loved the most spending time with her family especially at Myrtle Beach. She loved working on and collecting antique cars with her father and Bill, attending car shows and collecting automobilia. She was a member of the Mid-Ohio Valley Widetrackers car club. Tammy and her father received their pilots license in 1982 under the guidance of Jean Pickering, was a member of the 99’s female pilots club and enjoyed flying her Cessna as much as she could. She was an active member of the “Girl and a Gun” all women’s shooting League in the Licking County Ohio Chapter and was a very proficient shooter. Tammy loved her trips to the NASCAR races and the Hershey and Charlotte car show every year and was always very active and never passed an opportunity to try new activities.
Survivors include her beloved fiance and partner for life of 38 years Bill Mayhew of Belpre, Ohio. Sisters Debbie (Bill) Shepard of Amherst, NH, Robbin (Randy) Alton of Parkersburg, WV, Vickie (Karl) Miracle of Myrtle Beach, SC. Nieces and Nephews Will (Stacy) Shepard of California, Laurie (Kyle) Luce of New Hampshire, Jon (Laura) Shepard of Ohio, Andrew Shepard of New Hampshire, Jeramiah (Kelley) Alton of Pennsylvania, Alee (Dylan) Camden of West Virginia, Troy Alton of West Virginia. Great nieces and nephews Amelia, Elaina, and Camilla Shepard, Grace Luce, Lillian and Lucas Shepard, Tucker, Sydney and Maggie Camden and her beloved schnauzers Piper, Lexi and Yoshi.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre Ohio on November 25, 2025, from 4-6 PM with a service to follow at 6 PM. Services will be officiated by Mark Watkins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley and the staff at Marietta Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion for Tammy during her illness.
