Richard L. Nelson, 81, of Parkersburg, WV, died Friday November 7, 2025, at Parkersburg Care Center. He was born in Petroleum, WV, a son of the late James and Edna (Moore) Nelson.
He graduated from Parkersburg High School and was owner/operator of Rich Nelson Body Shop for many years. He was a huge Ohio State University fan.
He is survived by his beloved partner Pam Harris, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Robert, and Calvin Nelson, and sister Alma Williams.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday 2:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Adam Paff officiating. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Parkersburg Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
