John Burton Lorentz Sr., 79, of Belpre, Ohio, died at the Marietta Memorial Hospital on November 9, 2025. He was born in Parkersburg, WV on August 24, 1946, and was the son of the late Roy and Annabelle Stuttler Lorentz. He retired from Walmart and was a member of the Mullen Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge #609, the Belpre Eastern Star #541. He loved to hunt, fish and work on tractors and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Bonnie Jean Lipps Lorentz, children, John B. Lorentz Jr (Deb) of Belpre, Patty Hensley (Bruce) of Belpre, Michael Shields (Mary) of Fleming, Ohio, grandchildren, Jessie, Adrian, Faith, Sable, Lindsay, Mychal, Kayla, great grandchildren, Delilah, Emry, Roselynn, Kimber, Alice, Cullen.
He was preceded in death his parents, his 1st wife, Mary Lorentz, and a brother, Brian Lorentz
Services will be on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Jacob Timlin officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Belpre. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Masonic Services will be conducted on Thursday at 7:45 PM.
