Shirley Joan Schreckengost Evans

Shirley Joan Schreckengost Evans, 89, of Mineral Wells, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025, at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born in Parkersburg October 6, 1936 to the late Thurl B. and Hazel M. Andrews Schreckengost.

Shirley physically attended the Warehouse Church until 2020 and then watched on Sundays thereafter. Family was her priority, especially the grandkids. She was known to be a giver and was loved by all who met her, and touched many lives. She enjoyed puzzles and sewing in her down time.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Evans; children, Roy Stilgenbauer (Vicky), Robin Stilgenbauer (Randy Snyder), Regina Dickson (Jimmy), Ginny Harris (Geoff), and Debbie Hardman, all of Parkersburg; and Roberta Greathouse (Mike) and Randy Stilgenbauer (Victoria), of Florida; grandchildren, Daniel and David Stilgenbauer, Mike Greathouse, Tracy McElroy, Kristina Greathouse, Scott Stilgenbauer, Adriana Mey, Tina Moradiellos, Kenny and Melissa Balderson, Wyatt and Cole Dickson, Holly Chapman, Geoffy Harris, and Casey Hardman; and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, William, Thomas, Harry, and Donald; and five sisters, Betty, Rosemary, Willadean, Judy, and Marlene.

In honoring Shirley’s final wishes, there will be no services at this time.
