Rebecca L. Davis

Rebecca L. Davis, 77, of Parkersburg, WV, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, at WVU Medicine-Camden Clark. She was born in Beckley, WV, a daughter of the late Richard C. and Thelma (Johnston) Fitzpatrick.

She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for forty-three years in Human Resources and then Physician Services. After that she worked at The Colonial House. She was a member of Hope Free Will Baptist. She loved her pets and all animals.

She is survived by a son Patrick Davis (Gara) of Parkersburg; daughter Amy Root (Joshua) of Grasonville, MD; grandchildren Alexandra and James Root; step grandchildren Paige and Connor; sisters Shelby Fitzpatrick, Sue Zahrndt, Martha Watson, and Cathy Fitzpatrick; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special loved ones and caregivers Barb Hite, Bec Lough, and Doug Haymaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Davis; brother Terry Fitzpatrick; sisters Margaret “Cookie” Belt, and Diane Fitzpatrick; and niece Susan Sutton.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday 1 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Pastors Tom Blake and Bud Corbin officiating. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Operation Fancy Free.
