Ralph Edward Shaffer

Ralph Edward Shaffer, 69, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away on October 19, 2025, at his residence unexpectedly. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, the oldest of 7 children to Leota Jean (Knight) Shaffer and the late Gail Shaffer.

He loved going to the mountains in Richwood, WV, where he spent his childhood growing up camping and fishing being a mountain man. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler, being with family and friends, tinkering in the garage and going to the local mud boggs with the kids. Ralph was definitely a collector of all things. He was a 1975 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, and retired from Camden Clark.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons Dempsey Shaffer (Kristy) of Mineral Wells and Ben Shaffer (Pam) of Parkersburg; siblings Mark Shaffer (Felicia) of Mineral Wells, Debbie Phillips of Mineral Wells, Elaine Norman and Bob, all of Davisville, Doug Shaffer of Mineral Wells, Sharon Dye (Mark) of Mineral Wells, and Melody Flowers of Mineral Wells. He is also survived by four grandchildren Rebecca Richards, Austin Shaffer, Dalton Shaffer, and Brennen Shaffer; two Great Grandchildren Remington and Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Dave Phillips and sister-in-law Karen Shaffer.

Services will be Friday 2:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be Friday 12-2 PM.
