Kathleen “Kathy” Renee Wheaton Roush McGary

Kathleen “Kathy” Renee Wheaton Roush McGary, 70, of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Ohio Valley Healthcare, surrounded by family and the nursing staff who came to love her bright smile, sweet heart, and nature.

Born on June 3, 1955, in the Mid-Ohio Valley, Kathy was the daughter of the late Archie R. Wheaton and Beverly J. Boggs. She grew up in Vienna, West Virginia.

Kathy is survived by her daughters, Stephanie DeBerry (Brandon) and Sarah Noland (Marc); her sons, James McIntyre (Shelley) and Adam McGary (Danielle); grandchildren Dennis (McKenzy), Cydne, Silas, Amelia, Jae, Mackenzie, Zack, Addison, Sophie, and Ada; and great-granddaughter Elliana. She is also survived by her sisters Rose Nething (David) of Clarington, OH, and Linda Fleming (Bob) of Fairmont, WV.

Kathy was especially thankful for the renewed closeness she shared with her sisters Rose and Linda in recent years. She and Rose were known for their playful banter over who would win the attention of NCIS’s Gibbs — a testament to Kathy’s sense of humor and spirited personality.

She will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Kathy’s legacy lives on in the joy she brought to every room, the warmth of her hugs, and the countless memories she leaves behind.

The family extends a special thank-you to the staff at Ohio Valley Healthcare for the love and compassionate care they provided to Kathy. In addition, the family expresses deep appreciation to Amedisys Hospice and Chaplain Erik Nielsen.

Arrangements are being handled by Leavitt Funeral Home and a celebration of her life will be held November 9th from 1-5pm at the Leavitt Reception Center 620 Avery Street – Parkersburg WV.
