Anna Eleanor Wilcox

Anna Eleanor Wilcox, 92, of Parkersburg, passed away Sept. 30, 2025.

She was born in Parkersburg March 4, 1933, the daughter of the late William E. and Clara H. Johnson Wilcox.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1951 and went to work for Corning Glass in 1955 and retired in 1993 with 39 years of service and was a member of the Corning-Schott Retirees Club. After her retirement she was a volunteer in the Blennerhassett Island Gift Shop. She was a member of the South Parkersburg United Methodist Church and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Hustler’s Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Stardust Square Dance Club. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her sisters on bus and plane trips and loved gardening and canning her own vegetables.

She is survived by her cherished nieces and nephews and special great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her four sisters, Doris Walker, Dorothy Gates, Clara Wilson, Ruth Flinn and her best friend, Rolla Daugherty.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1:00pm at Evergreen North Cemetery with Larry Walker officiating.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Ashley and Samantha at Wyngate and Roseann at Elison Assisted Living. Donations may be made in her memory to South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, The Alzheimer’s Association or Amedysis Hospice of Marietta.
