Richard “Dick” Rhodes

Dick was born March 22, 1945, to Orda C. and Iva Mae (Whited) Rhodes in Parkersburg, WV.

He is survived by his wife Marty of 45 years, children, son Tony (Sara), grandchildren Olivia (Eric), Brandon, Eve, daughter Kristy (Todd), grandchildren Mason, Carter, son Josh (Krista), grandchildren Miles, Liam, and son Evan (Devin Jones).

He worked for Durfees TV Cable and the following owners for over 35 years. He was a Baptist by faith having been a member of Vienna Baptist Church and Porterfield Baptist Church. Dick loved animals and will be missed by Burt, Honey, and Pippi. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and most recently could be seen at MiniBel in Vienna, either playing golf or helping keep the course maintained.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Jim Henry, and granddaughter Kendall.

The family would like to thank the Staff at WVU Medicine and Housecalls Hospice for the loving care that was shown to Dick the last two years. Memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Humane Society of Parkersburg.

Following Dick’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
