Richard C. Oesterle Jr.

Richard C. Oesterle, Jr., of Slate, WV, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Belpre Landing. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Richard C. and Mary Catherine Oesterle.

He was owner/operator of Oesterle Glass and Paint, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of The Elks Club, American Legion Post 15, and VFW Post 1212. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Richard was a supporter of Ducks Unlimited and Bass Masters.

He is survived by two daughters Michelle E. McLendon (Eric) of Slate and Angela C. Maloney (Chad) of Belpre; grandchildren Dylan Reeder (Olivia), Caleb Reeder, Josh Fielder (Devin), and Lauren Burns (Emily); great grandchildren Luke and Logan Reeder and Tyler and Tiffany Fielder; nephew Earl John “EJ” Oesterle II (Nicole); and niece Elizabeth Oesterle (Dave Loudermilk).

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sondra (Sturm) Oesterle, and brother Earl John Oesterle II.

Services will be Saturday 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Strecker Cancer Center and Belpre Landing SNF for their heartfelt care.
