Richard Allen Wiseman

Richard Allen Wiseman, 69, of Washington, WV, passed away at his home on August 3, 2025.

He was born on September 11, 1955, in Ravenna, Ohio, and raised in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Richard and Margaret Ferrell Wiseman.

Rick had a strong work ethic from a young age, beginning with a paper route at 14. He later worked at Jimbo’s Restaurant before moving into restaurant management, taking a position with Pizza Inn in Vienna, WV. His career with the company led him to Allentown, PA, where he served as General Manager. Eventually, Rick returned home to West Virginia and joined UPS in Parkersburg, later moving on to KNG Distributors, which became Miller Beer Delivery. He loved being out on the road, especially when he could connect with people along his routes. Rick also had a passion for real estate and found joy in purchasing and managing rental properties, turning it into a successful and fulfilling endeavor. Rick was a self-made man who was dedicated to his work.

One of Rick’s greatest pleasures was spending time on the Ohio River. An avid boater, he loved being on the water with family and friends – and could even ski on one ski. Those river memories are cherished by all who shared them with him.

Rick is survived by his siblings: Roberta Shoaff (Al), Sandra Bonar (Ed), Roger Wiseman (Gemma), and Robert Wiseman (Dorothy); as well as a dear friend, Mark Belyus. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Rodney Wiseman, and his beloved son, Richard “Little Ricky” Wiseman II – his pride and joy.

A visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm and a memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Pastor Frank Miller officiating. Inurnment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.
