Loretta Rosan Davis

Loretta Rosan Davis, 79, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2025, in Marietta, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Marietta, Ohio, on Nov. 2, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Sweet. After graduating from Belpre High School, Loretta earned her Beautician’s License in Cosmetology. She later devoted her life to being a homemaker, serving the Lord alongside her husband, Dwight, in various local churches and finding her greatest joy in caring for her husband and family. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Vienna, WV.

Sewing and crafts were her favorite pastimes — if she had a pattern and a sewing machine, she could make nearly anything. She also enjoyed painting with friends, tending to her garden, traveling to Amish Country, and taking vacations to Myrtle Beach with family. Loretta had a special love for animals, both pets and wildlife, and was especially delighted in feeding birds outside her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Sweet, and her husband of more than 50 years, Dwight Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jeff Davis (Kim) of New Albany, Ohio; Jennifer Hamilton (Jason) of Marietta, Ohio; Mitch Davis (Andrea) of Marietta, Ohio; and Brent Davis (Christina) of Belpre, Ohio. She is also lovingly remembered by ten grandchildren: Cole Hamilton (Shelby), Shay Davis, Carlie Hamilton, Seth Davis, Lance Davis (Emily), Lacey Davis, Cameron Davis, Collin Davis, Carson Hamilton, and Jenna Davis; as well as her great-grandchild, Oliver Hamilton.

Viewing and condolences to the family will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. and prior to service from 12-1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, Ohio. Service will be held on Oct. 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, Ohio, Brent Davis and Jason Hamilton officiating.
