Jimmy (Jim) Lee Hinzman, 77, of Parkersburg, passed away Sept. 18, 2025, at the Elison Assisted Living and Memory Care in Marietta, Ohio.
He was born May 7, 1948, in Parkersburg the son of the late Junior Roberts, Dorothy Barnett Roberts Hinzman and adoptive father, Robert V. Hinzman.
He had worked as an Equipment Operator for Eramet and retired after 35 years of service. He had at one time been an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and target shooting. He also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Fort Boreman Rifle Club. He was a Christian and a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ. Jim loved his family dearly and talked about them often.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 58 years, Sarah Maxine “Sally” Balderson Hinzman; His sons, David Hinzman (Tina) of Greensboro, NC and Doug Hinzman (Shannan) of Parkersburg. His grandchildren, Jessica Chick (Tony) of Georgia, Michael Hinzman (Brittany) of Georgia and Sarah Eaton (Eric) of Belpre, OH. and 4 great grandsons, Eli, Zach, Kai and Coastyn.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Camden Avenue Church of Christ with Evangelist Doug Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12-2 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the humane society of Parkersburg in honor of his beloved dog, Andy.
