Gary Lee Russell, 65, of Mineral Wells, passed away September 9, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born August 4, 1960, in Martinsville, VA, a son of the late John William (JW) and Peggy Ann Lemons Russell.
Gary was a retired roofing contractor who spent his time hunting and being outdoors, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. He was an avid NASCAR fan and doted on his pets. He could usually be found somewhere on the beloved farm puttering on something in his garage. To say he was a collector was an understatement. He found treasure in others cast offs.
Surviving is his wife Mary Frances Stacks Russell, three children: Crystal L. Boggs (Chris) of Parkersburg, Cory P. Boggs (Sasha) of Parkersburg and Cody J. Boggs (Caroline) of Washington, WV, his siblings: Kenny Russell (Betty) of Cornelius, NC, Debbie Gravely of Martinsville, Vickie Gutshall (George) of Martinsville, VA and Jay Russell (Debbie) of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.
Gary also leaves behind his grandchildren: Taj and Auyner Joyce, Maddox, Jaxton, Arizona and Maevie Lord and Noble Boggs.
