Elden B. Herrod

Elden B. Herrod, 88, of Parkersburg passed away Sept. 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Harrison County, WV, a son of the late Odbert J. and Ruth Thompson Herrod.

Elden was a US veteran having served seven years in active service with the Marine Corps and then continued his service with fourteen years in the Army Reserve. He retired from Kardex Corp with over 30 years of service and attended South Parkersburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter and was a fierce proctor of his family.

He is survived by his son, Kevin B. (Beth) Herrod of Lewistown, PA; three grandchildren, Katelyn (Evan) DeGraef of Parkersburg, Andrew (Jensen) Herrod of Parkersburg, Aiden Hendricks of Bethlehem, PA; great granddaughter, Adalynn Herrod.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Bailey Herrod and was the last surviving member of eleven children having been preceded in death by his five brothers, Mansfield, Jack, Emerson, Oral, Delano Herrod; five sisters, Mildred Gallo, June Runner, Ruth Bolin, Pearl Junior and Lucille Herrod.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Adam Paff and Pastor Eric Seckman officiating.

Burial will follow at Marshville Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshville, WV.

Visitation will be held Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
