Douglas Billington Copeland, 64, of Belpre passed away August 20, 2025, at the Isabella Pearl Mine in Nevada.
He was born December 21, 1960, in West Palm Beach, FL, a son of Carole Ann Guinn Foster and the late James Billington Copeland.
Doug was an owner/operator truck driver. He was a member of the Operating Engineering Union Local 3 and also the Teamsters in Texas. He said the greatest job he ever had was teaching others how to drive a truck. He was Baptist by faith.
Doug enjoyed playing golf with his son, fishing, riding his Harley, playing Poker and watching movies. He was an avid college and pro football fan. He was great at sports and music trivia. He was a tremendous cook. Doug was a devoted father and husband.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 28 years Linda Sue Copeland, married June 22, 1996, in Hawaii; his children Cody Copeland of NV, Courtney Copeland (Chase Dixon) of Williamstown, WV and Connor Copeland of Belpre; sister Donna Lynn (Jeff) of Auburndale, FL; brothers Jason Copeland (Mary) and Brad Foster (Monica); nieces and nephews Josh Shunk (Danielle), James Lynn (Amber), Mason Copeland, Kayla Elizabeth Angulo, Oliva Foster, Hailey Foster (Karl Graham) and Miranda Foster; great nephews Urijah Lynn, Lincoln Lynn, Zaiden and Brian. Doug was also survived by his dog that he loved, Ben.
Services will be 1pm Thursday September 4, 2025 at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, with Pastor Kent Lowther officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 11am-1pm. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.LeavittFuneralHome.com.
