Carl Thomas "Tom" Smith, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away August 28, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born May 24, 1947, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Charles R. and Edith Estep Smith.
Tom retired from The Ice House as Vice-President with 40 plus years of service. He was a long-time member of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, Sudoku and watching his kids and grandkids sporting events, especially their basketball games.
Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Newhouse Smith, son John T. Smith (Megan) of Alexandria, VA, daughter Judy Wilson (Phil) of Parkersburg, brother Charles "Anthony" Smith (Anne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and five grandchildren: Breanna, Tre and Quinten Wilson and Matthew and Kaitlin Smith along with nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11AM at the Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Christian Wake services immediately following.
