Sharon Davis

Sharon Davis
Sharon Davis, 81, of Parkersburg, WV, was spotted giving orders to St. Peter on Tuesday afternoon, August 26, 2025, as she departed this world, taking one last great trip to Heaven, leaving behind Vic Davis, her husband of sixty-three years. A true matriarch, with dignity and class and conviction seldom seen these days, she owned and helped manage the business her grandfather started, Danser Sheet Metal, she grew a family tree with roots and branches stretching generations, and she made things more beautiful.
Not always right but never in doubt, Sharon was a born leader, truly gifted in the art of giving orders, especially to her family. Love is willing the good of the other. Sharon loved with a determination and confidence that came from knowing that she was beautifully and wonderfully made in the image of God. A devout Catholic, Sharon rubbed her rosary beads with intent, praying for what she loved most: her family.
Yes, she liked to travel. She liked to shop. She liked to decorate. But Sharon Louise Davis loved her family. She loved the chaos of family gatherings and often stretched “family” to include neighbors, friends, and even strangers. From neighborhood blocks to a farm with a green army tent, she knew how to throw a party, and she was exceptional at making everyone feel welcome. How many times will someone say: Sharon was like a mother to me. Hundreds. How many people will glance at this text, not knowing that Sharon paid for their tuition, paid for Christmas, bought shoes and dinners and so much. She privately and quietly made lives better.
You can still see her in everyone she’s leaving behind: her husband Victor Davis; six children Eric Davis (Lisa Shaffer) of Washington, WV, Matt Davis (Jane) of Washington, Angela Tadlock of Vienna, Kristen DeAngelo (Louis) of Parkersburg, Tracee Pfeiffer (Chris) of Marietta, and Fallen Brubaker of Marietta; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and two siblings Carolyn Robinson and Mark Chichester.
She is also hugging for the first time a grandson, who preceded her in death, and is once again laughing and sharing stories with her parents, Walter and Martha Chichester.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Sunday 2:00 PM at Basilica of St. Mary of The Assumption in Marietta with Father Edward as celebrant. Visitation will be Saturday 4-6 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. A private entombment will take place at a later date.
