Ruth Lois (Hale) Carmichael

Ruth Lois (Hale) Carmichael, 94, born on May 19, 1931, on Wolfe Run in Wood County, WV passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2025.

She was a long time member of the Milhoan Ridge Baptist Church. Ruth (known by all her friends and family as Ruthie or Aunt Ruthie) was the youngest of seven children born to the late Eldon and Mary Grace Hale.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2005 after 55 years of marriage; brothers, Orlin (Tater), Argyle (Short), and Harold (Whiz); sisters, Reva, Neva, and Doris.

She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her terribly.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the service starting at 5:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home. Ruth’s nephew, Ron Stephens, will officiate.

Internment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, on Rt. 95, Parkersburg, WV on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
