Mary Margaret Smith of Harrisville, WV, will be greatly missed. “Marg,” of Mary Street, passed away of natural causes on August 22, 2025. She was one month shy of 95 and during her long, productive life she was an efficient bookkeeper, and involved in the fields of insurance and banking. She had previously lived in Barberton, OH, Petroleum, WV, and Boynton Beach, FL. Although she lived frugally, she was very generous with others and will be long remembered for her razor-sharp wit and zoomies when driving around the “Ville.”

She left behind her “rock,” her brother-in-law, Bob Wheeler. Also, her loss will be felt by her niece, Tara Shackelford, sister-in-law, Amy Wheeler, and an amazing number of loyal friends. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Sandra Wheeler, her niece, Kelly Yeager, and a myriad of beloved cats and dogs.

In her final moments, her last words were, “I want to go home.” She sighed and then said, “Heaven, here I come.”

Per her request, there will be no funeral arrangements and tributes can be made to your favorite charity. Her ashes will be interred with her parents and sister in Florida.
