Lawrence Lee Thompson Sr.

Lawrence Lee Thompson Sr., 86, of Tuckers Creek Road, Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Cedar Grove Assisted Living.

He was born in Jackson County, West Virginia, a son of the late William and Vera Seals Thompson.

Lawrence retired from Walker Parkersburg, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include three children, Lawrence Thompson Jr, Bonnie Hennen (Tom), and Richard Thompson (Dora); son-in-law, Walter Coleman; grandchildren, Sena McDonald (Joe), Sarah Bell Sharp (Jerry), Felicia Swecker, Jeremy Coleman, Justin Thompson, Kaitlyn Mudek (Kyle), and Adam Thompson; great-grandchildren, Sarah Sharp, Garrett Sharp, and Sadie McDonald; siblings, Belinda Deem (David), Kenneth Thompson (Janet), Bill Thompson, and Wanda Caltrider; and sisters-in-law, Betty Thompson and Pat Hale.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Hale Thompson; a daughter, Rose Coleman; son-in-law, Butch Bell; three brothers, Darrell Thompson, Harlin Thompson, and Bobby Thompson; sister-in-law, Donna Hale Reed; and brother-in-law, Cecil Hale.

At his request a private family committal will be held at the convenience of his family. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist with final arrangements.
