In Loving Memory of Karen Lorraine Leachman (nee Kragnes) 1942 – 2025 Karen Lorraine Leachman of Belleview, Florida, passed peacefully on August 2, 2025, at age 83, with her granddaughter Taylor by her side. Known for her boundless kindness and grace, Karen treated everyone with respect and compassion. She was the heart of her family, always present at milestones and celebrations, offering thoughtful gifts and love. Karen is survived by her children, William “Todd” Leachman and Jennifer Lynn LaPoint, and grandchildren Mattole Mei-Sze and Taylor May Woolsey van Maasdijk. She was the daughter of Alfred and Clara Kragnes of Pittsburgh and the last of five siblings. A Mount Lebanon High School graduate, Karen earned her Master’s in Social Work from West Virginia Wesleyan University. She founded West Virginia’s first comprehensive Senior Services Program, improving the lives of countless seniors. After retiring, Karen became a successful real estate agent in Florida, beloved by clients and colleagues. Karen passionately supported her family’s water skiing legacy, coaching her children and granddaughter to national and world-class success. Her generosity and warmth touched many. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. A memorial service will be held September 19, 2025, at Sacred Fire Church, Belleview, FL, at 11:00 A.M.
