Glendon “Steve” Somerville

Glendon “Steve” Somerville, 71, of Williamstown, WV, passed away August 26, 2025, at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. He was born to the late Denzil G. and Mary Maxine Somerville of Williamstown, WV.

Steve is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah Somerville, one daughter, Stephanie (Roy) Halstead of Parkersburg, one son, James (Kari) Somerville of Falling Waters, WV, one sister, Crista “Mardene” (Tim) Haddix of Statesville, North Carolina, and one brother, Mason “Dee” Somerville of Williamstown, WV. He also had two grandchildren, Kendra Halstead and Luke Somerville.

He was a faithful member of the Grand Central Church of Christ and retired from Dupont in December 2013. Steve enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and yard work. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no funeral services will be held. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, located in Parkersburg, WV, at a later date.
