Marlin Rufus Runnion, 88, of Saint Marys, passed away July 6, 2025, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 21, 1936, in Kanawha County, WV, a son of the late Rufus and Erma Bailey Runnion.
He retired as Terminal Manager for Chemical Leaman Tankliners and later drove a bus for several years for the St. Marys Senior Citizens. He was a US Army veteran and attended Dewey Avenue Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, tinkering, gardening, traveling and most of all, spending time with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherri (Kirk) Timmons of St. Marys; son, Jeff (Dorlinda Steele) Runnion of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Jason (Molly) Timmons, Kayla (Matt) Umstot, Jared (Adam) Runnion, Anna Kay Runnion; great grandchildren, Elliott Timmons, Watson Umstot, Leah Jones, and an expected great granddaughter, Eiley Umstot; sister, Linda Uvegas of Columbus, OH; and companion of several years, Judy Perkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Shinn Runnion; brother, Larry Michael Runnion; two sisters, Aileen Stout and Hilda Nichols.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 1:00 pm, July 16th, at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Evangelist Carlos Molina officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery North.
Visitation will be held Tuesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
