Leslie “Les” Rothwell

Leslie “Les” Rothwell, 95, of Vienna, passed away July 3, 2025, at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Les was born on September 10, 1929, in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Gilbert Buck and Mary Adams Rothwell. He leaves behind three children, Kathy Packer (Ron), Leslie Goudy (Terry), Michael Rothwell (Sharon) as well as five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Rothwell; three sisters, Betty Freed, Inez Postelwait and Molly Dulaney.

He was a US Army veteran serving from 1951-1953. Les and Dottie started Rothwell’s Cleaners in 1953 known today as The Guard Cleaning Company and their family continues to run the business today. He attended Stout Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, raising his family and operating his business.

Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Graveside services will be Monday 11:00 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Reverend John Downs officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to House Calls Hospice, 417 Grand Park Drive, #204, Parkersburg, WV 26105.
