Donna Evalyn Dornon

Donna Evalyn Dornon, 76, of Parkersburg, WV, went home to be with the Lord on July 22, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on December 3, 1948, in Nashville, TN, to the late Robert L. Hussey and Eleanor E. Brooks Hussey.

Donna is survived by her four children: Matt Fleak and his wife Heather of WV, Mike Fleak and his wife Mischa of WV, Mark Fleak and his wife Missy of OH, and Laura Fleak Hopkins of WV. She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Robert Hussey of NY and David Hussey of TN.

Donna shared a lifelong friendship with Debbie Gann and Gary Burkhart, with whom she created decades of cherished memories, including many travels together.

She had a deep love for the beach and a passion for sewing and baking — skills she lovingly passed down to her granddaughters. Donna was known for her generous spirit, often gifting others with her handmade crafts and homemade treats.

She retired from Sears and throughout her life was a devoted member of several churches, including Lubeck Church of Christ, Landmark Baptist Church, and North Parkersburg Baptist Church.

Family gatherings brought her great joy, and she especially loved attending her granddaughters’ activities and events. Donna was known for her grace and style — she never left the house without her hair curled and makeup perfectly in place.

One of her favorite Bible verses was 2 Timothy 1:7:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, she will be cremated and no formal service will be held.

The family, especially Matt and Heather Fleak, extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ravenswood Village Nursing Home and Kanawha Hospice Care for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Donna.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
