Clarence W. “Stubby” Barnett, 101, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away July 24, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on June 20, 1924, near Torch, Ohio, a son of the late Carrie Dixon and John Barnett.
Clarence was a WWII Navy Veteran. He had worked for Kroger’s in Columbus, Ohio, and built and managed the Twin Pines Shake Shop in Tuppers Plains, Ohio. He finished his career as a supervisor for Shelly and Sands.
Clarence was a very kind, considerate, loving and caring man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to Canada with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Rita Y. Barnett, of Belpre, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Carol Barnett, of Tuppers Plains, Ohio; stepdaughter Rita Nestor (Dave), of Mineral Wells, WV; stepson Jim Pursley (Sheila), of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren Robyn DeRosa (Mike), of Powell, Ohio, Steven Barnett (Allison), Michael Barnett (Jessica) and Brittany Barnett all of Tuppers Plains, Ohio; great grandchildren Brady DeRosa, of Powell, Ohio, Cooper Barnett, Case Barnett, Trace Barnett, Aubrey Barnett and Cole Brookover all of Tuppers Plains, Ohio; step grandchildren Stephanie Pickens (Bryce) of Belpre, Ohio, Sheri and Staci Pursley of Parkersburg, WV; step great grandchild Chesney Douglas of Belpre, Ohio; sisters and brothers Patty Kendig, Betty Springer, Ron Ballard and Ed Barnett and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Georgia Barnett, son Roger Barnett, brother Lowell Barnett, sisters Kay Salyer and Carole White.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 1-2 p.m., with funeral services at 2 p.m., at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre. Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.LeavittFuneralHome.com.
