Terry J. Boone, born May 30, 1944, to the late Harold and Emeline Boone in Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on June 5, 2025.
Terry fought a courageous battle with an extended illness for the past 10 years. He made many trips to Cleveland Clinic and WVU Camden, and always treated his doctors and nurses to his broad smile. Many said that he was their favorite patient.
Terry loved bird hunting, fly fishing and anything outdoors. He especially liked the many hunting trips to Michigan, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Montana with his hunting buddies. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at McDonald's and Hardee's. He was known as "Mister Fixit", and enjoyed the challenge of repairing anything broken that came his way. Terry was a member of IUOE local 132 and also worked for Rish Equipment and Gress Equipment. He was a life member of the Williamstown Masonic Lodge 129, and the U. S. Naval reserves.
Terry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon (Steele) Boone and his daughter Stacy Filozof and her husband Peter Filozof. Also surviving him are his sisters Marcia Morrison (John) of Pensacola, Tammy Wilhelm (John) of Belpre, and three grandchildren Elissa Filozof, Rachel Filozof, and Jacob Filozof, as well as great granddaughter Emilia. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and the many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
We would like to thank his many doctors and nurses at Cleveland Clinic, and his local doctors Dr. Bairava Kuppuswamy, Dr. John Onestinghel and his son in law, Dr. Peter Filozof. We thank the nurses from Amedisys for their compassion, as well as the many neighbors and friends who have helped and prayed for us.
