Stephen Craig Atkinson, 75, of Vincent, passed away June 13, 2025, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 5, 1949, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late John R. and Elizabeth Elder Atkinson.
Mr. Atkinson retired from E. I. DuPont after 30 years of service in the Teflon Research Lab. He was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Steve was an avid Buckeye and Indians fan. He enjoyed being on his tractor mowing the yard and breakfasts with his brother, Randy.
Surviving is his wife Dorothy E. Tornes Wolfe Atkinson, his children: Gina Meredith (Brian) of Parkersburg, Justin Atkinson of Vienna, Kathy Wolfe-Crouser of Fleming, Les Wolfe of Fleming and Kelly Martin of Little Hocking and brother Randy Atkinson of Vincent.
Steve also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Seth Crouser, Brook and Ethan Wolfe, Brandy Pottmeyer, Misty Martin and Amy Brown along with 13 great-grandchildren, two of whom, Madalan and Mikenna, held a special place in his heart. Additionally, the family would like to thank Steve's caregivers, Cyndi DeMoss and Sharon McGraw.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025, 3 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Marty Fullerton officiating. A time of gathering for family and friends will be one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dunham Township Volunteer Fire Department, 5770 Veto Road Belpre, OH 45714.
