Janeen Lynn Barrett, born on Nov. 21, 1957, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully in Englewood, Florida, on Nov. 12, 2023, at the age of 65.
Janeen was a devoted and hardworking woman known for her selflessness and kind heart. She dedicated over 20 years of her career to Sears and retired from Lowe’s in 2023. Her passions included gardening, relaxing on the beach, and fishing–especially with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Angelillis, and son-in-law, Brian; grandchildren Dane, Stella, and Finn; sisters Joan Florence (David), Dianne Modesitt (Robert), and Jill Mehl (David); and her brother, Hank Bowry (Janie). She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mary Ann Bowry.
David Wayne Barrett, 67, of Lochloosa, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025. He was born on Aug. 29, 1957, in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
David dedicated his career to sales and maintenance, but his truest fulfillment came from the simple joys of life. He cherished time spent fishing with his grandchildren, discovering treasures on shopping trips, and sharing quiet, contented moments with his loyal companion, his dog Bridget.
He is remembered by his daughter, Elizabeth Angelillis, and son-in-law, Brian, along with his grandchildren Dane, Stella, and Finn. David is also survived by his mother, Betty Barrett; his sisters Laura Merritt (Joel) and Jennifer Ridenhour.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janeen Barrett, his sister Janet Barrett, and his father Edwin Barrett. The family finds comfort in knowing that David and Janeen are reunited and watching over those they held so dear.
A memorial lunch in celebration of Janeen’s and David’s lives will be held on Friday, June 20th at 11:30 a.m. at The Links at Woodridge (301 Woodridge Drive, Mineral Wells), followed by a graveside memorial at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
