Gay F. Metz, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away June 17, 2025, at The Willows in Parkersburg. She was born November 26, 1940, a daughter to the late William and Virginia Bell (Danforth).
Gay loved her family deeply, always enjoying time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel whenever possible, and loved driving around town with her daughter to find local garage sales. Gay was a lifetime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Surviving Gay are her children Robert Metz (Jennifer) and Mindy Metz; grandchildren Riley, Camryn, Shelby (Josh), and Logan; sister Pat Peterman; sister-in-law Judy Bell, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Clarence Metz; siblings Charles, George, Donald, James, Gary, and Rosemary; her infant brother John Henry, and her niece Jackie.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her nieces Tressa Cochran and Mary McIntyre for their loving, excellent care of Gay over the last few months.
Funeral Services for Gay will be held Saturday June 21, at 2pm, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Visitation will be held the same day from 12-2pm. Burial will follow the service at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.
