Karen Yvonne Fox

Karen Yvonne Fox, 80, of Belleville, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28, 1944, a daughter to the late Richard and Doris VanMatre (Wolfe).

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She had a deep love for homemaking, canning, camping, and enjoyed gardening, and cooking big family meals. During the holidays she was known for her peanut butter and chocolate fudge candy. Karen was also known for her gentle spirit, warm laughter, and generosity toward others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and unwavering love.

Surviving Karen is her husband of 62 years, Gary F. Fox Sr.; children Gary F. Fox Jr., Kellie R. Gatrell (David), and Brian M. Fox; grandchildren Brandon, Brooke, Chad, Kelsey, and Dakota; great-grandchildren Marleigh and Annalia; and siblings Larry “Buggy” VanMatre, Donna Vincent, Grace Scheifer, and Harry “Bud” VanMatre.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother James VanMeter.

As per Karen’s wishes, no service will take place and her remains will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amedysis Foundation of Vienna, WV, in Karen’s memory.
