Edward Eugene Drain, 84, of Vienna, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born January 30, 1941, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Marion E. and Elizabeth A. Smith Drain.
He enjoyed golfing and watching sports, and spending time with his family. He was a 65 year member of Laborers Local 1085, where he retired as Business Manager. He was also a life member of Moose Lodge 1118.
Edward is survived by his children, Roderick Drain (Darlene), Rick Drain (Kimberly), Dedra Balderson (Jerry) all of Parkersburg, and Debra Weekley (Neil) of Ravenswood; siblings, Doug Drain, Polly Kracher, Nancy Hinman, and Ken Drain (Maura); seven grandchildren, Rod, Derick, Chrystal (Chris), Ricky (Brittany), Darcie (LJ), Megan (Shaun), and Zachary; sixteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, as well as a special niece, Tawny Drain; and his friends at Woodridge Plantation.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Sharon Ann Drain; his sister, Mary Durkee; and his grandson, Patrick Richards.
The family would like to thank Amedysis nurses, Jennifer, Ashley, Shawnta, and Connie for their excellent care.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastor Jerry Sowders officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8 from 4 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
