William R. Lemley
William R. Lemley, 83, of Vienna, WV passed away March 17, 2025, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 13, 1941, in Summitt, WV, a son of the late Grover C and Mildred Beabout Lemley.
Bill graduated from Parkersburg High School and West Virginia University of Parkersburg with an associate’s degree. He worked at Demuth Glass/Brockway Glass/Owen Illinois. He retired from GE Plastics after many years of service. Bill was a man with a strong faith and was an involved member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Over the years, he was involved in multiple men’s Bible study groups. He was a member of Conquerors Sunday School Class. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed target practice. He loved to travel to gun shows where he could display, trade, and sell. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 39 years, Gladys Newbanks Lemley; children, Bryan (Heather) Lemley of Lubeck, WV, Connie (Dan) Woodard of Palestine, WV; grandchildren, Ashley Allen of Townsend DE, Amanda Lewis of Richmond, KY, Zackary Lemley and Chance Lemley both of Williamstown, WV; great and great grandchildren, Auston Allen, Aubrey Allen, Norah Ott, Penelope Ott, Alex Lemley; brothers, Edwin (Ilene) Lemley, Gerald (Mary) Lemley of Vienna, WV, Lois Austin of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Ruth (Charles) Burrows of Manuta, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Glenna Radcliff; brothers, Harold Lemley, Richard Lemley, and sister, Doris Johnson.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m Friday, March 21, 2025, at the funeral home.
