Mary Talbott

Mary Rose Talbott, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away Feb. 28, 2025, at the Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 16, 1941, in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late James S. and Mary Ellen Marteny Nicola.

Mary worked for Walker of Parkersburg for over 25 years and also worked at Ohio Valley College. She was a long-time member of the North End Church of Christ. She was active in the Partners in Education while at Walker Pkg. and was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Surviving are her daughters: Elizabeth Berry (Mark) of Vienna and Patricia Buck (Joe) of Williamstown, three sisters: Mary Ann Jaffe (Bob) of Beaumont, CA, Ruth Collins of Olympia, WA and Joy Davis (Vince) of Manchester, TN.

She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Christina Virtue (Bob), Nathan Reed, Joey Buck (Karissa), Matthew Buck (Brittney), Renee Bruns and Kyle Powers, along with great-grandchildren: Tanner Renae, Raighan, Blake, Braxton, Brooklyn, Charley Rose, Brynlee, Lydia and Trenton.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Glenn R. Talbott in 2006, daughter Cynthia Life, sister Barbara Withee, brothers: James S. Nicola and William “Red” Nicola and best friend Ruth Ann Gibbs.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Evangelist Mark Aites and her son-in-law Mark Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 5-7 p.m.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Talbott’s caregivers whom she considered family: Margie, Kimi and Jada.
