Marcelle Riggs – Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, and friend Marcelle Riggs of Pennsboro, WV, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 13, 2025. The daughter of Prospere and Cemone Amar, was born in Casablanca, Nov. 27, 1926, the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, David and Baruk, two sisters, Alice and Mary, and her husband of 59 years, Blaine Riggs.

Marcelle is survived by her son, Roy Hammond (Linda), one daughter, Linda Blouir (Richard), and three sons, Roger Riggs (Joyce), Randall Riggs (Angela), Robert Riggs (Debbie), all of Ritchie County, WV; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Marcelle worked for nearly 50 years in the garment industry. She was a faithful member of Riddle’s Chapel Congregation Church for many years; member of Pennsboro Chapter #26 Order of the Eastern Star and former member of the Pennsboro Woman’s Club and Pennsboro Fire Department Auxiliary.

She was very active in supporting her children in all of their school activities. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, sewing, cooking and substituting for bonco. She spent the last several years residing with her daughter and son-in-law. As her health began to decline she had caregivers who became very special to her. Her last month was spent in Genesis Pine View in Harrisville, WV. The family would like to thank the staff for the loving care they provided for her.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV, with the Pastor Dan Martin and Pastor Greg Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Harmony Cemetery, Pennsboro, WV.
