Elmer H. Parker Sr., 78, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away March 26, 2025, at his home.

He was born March 9, 1947, in Harrisville, WV, a son of the late Alonzo Parker and Hilda Stanley Parker.

Elmer graduated from Harrisville High School in 1966. Two years later he married the love of his life, Lula B. Coss Parker on February 23, 1968. Elmer had various jobs throughout his life. He worked for Mid Atlantic Glass Factory, Viscose, O’Ames, Shell Chemical, Huntsman/Nova Chemical where he was a supervisor until retirement in 2001. He was a devoted and faithful member of New Life Baptist Church in Washington, WV, where he served as a Trustee for 19 years. An avid outdoorsman, Elmer enjoyed spending as much time as possible in nature. Everyone who knew Elmer knew how much he loved working outdoors, hunting, and woodworking. Most of all, his pride and joy were his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Elmer will be missed more than any words could express but he will be forever in our hearts until we meet again.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Lula Parker; son, Elmer Jr. (Pamela) Parker; daughter, Belinda (James) Williams; grandchildren, Whitney (Justin) Wigal, Brandon (Karlee) Parker, Tyler (Tommy Farrah) Williams, Casey (Emily) Williams, Courtlyn (Trace) Elder; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Everett Wigal, Millie and Leah June Parker, Gracie and Violet Williams, Caylum Elder; siblings, Carolyn Vincent, James Parker, Dale Parker, Lois (Jeff) Currey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Lockhart; brother- in-law, Denton Vincent, and sister-in-law, Diemma Parker.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday March 29, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Scott Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday March 28, 2025, at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their loving care during Elmer’s final days.
