Doug Pool

Doug Pool, 82, of Davisville, WV, died Tuesday March 18, 2025, at Selby Hospital. He was born in Oakland, CA a son of the late William Jay and Rhea Etta (Thatcher) Pool.

He was a truck and bus driver and had worked for Easy Rider. The last few years he was working at Leavitt Funeral Home. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a United States Navy veteran. He enjoyed genealogy, family history, water skiing, sports in general, and an avid fan of The Ohio State University.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Margaret Ann (Yglesias) Pool; two sons William Hugh Pool of Lubeck, WV and Larry Scott Riggs (Diana Ladwig) of Middleton, WI; daughter Melissa Ann Doty (Jon) of Independence, KY; sister-in-law Iris Pool; two grandchildren Martine Rhea Pool and Cyera Dawn Riggs; and a great granddaughter Zoey Ann Loscar.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Daryl J. Pool.

Services will be Friday 6:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2515 Capital Drive, Parkersburg, WV, with Bob Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday 4-6 PM at the church. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
