Evelyn H. Neely

Evelyn H. Neely, 90, passed away on Jan. 30, 2025, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Evelyn was born on June 10, 1934, to the late James P. and Grace Heddleston. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Marys High School and was City Clerk for the city of Belmont for 18 years retiring in 1996. Evelyn was faithful member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday school class and teacher, Max Powell.

Evelyn raised five children on Ruby Street in Belmont, where she resided for 62 years. She is survived by daughters, Tara Cochrane, Pam Marucci, Sue (Nick) Morgan, and Lori (Ted) VanScoy; eight grandchildren, Kristina (Paul) Roberts, Nick Marucci, Christopher (Cassie) Cochrane, Sarah (Radim) Neely, Lauren (Chris) Schaffer, Morgan (Alex) Parent, Caroline (Jon) Stuart, and Taylor (Richard) Wolfe; and 16 great-grandchildren, Blake, Hadley, Kensen, Reagan, Calvin, Remy, Asher, Clara, Haley, Lenna, Mason, Tyler, Tate, AJ, Piper, and Florence. Eveyln was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Calvin Neely; son, Rod Neely; granddaughter, Kathleeen Cochrane Dipiero; and son-in-law’s, Jim Cochrane, and Ken Marucci.

A memorial service will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Rev. Clare Sulgit officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the funeral home. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
