Brenda Sue Poynter (Jenkins)

July 1, 1959 – February 11, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Sue Poynter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on Feb. 11, 2025, in her hometown of Marietta, Ohio.

Brenda was born on July 1, 1959, in Marietta, Ohio. A retired Dental Assistant (EFDA), Brenda was known for her hardworking and caring nature. She was an avid walker, a passionate cook, and loved spending time with her granddaughter and family. Brenda enjoyed dining out at restaurants and shared many joyful moments riding Harleys with her husband, Jack. Her love for animals led her to found the non-profit organization Friends of Forgotten Felines, dedicated to caring for feral cats at the Marietta fairgrounds.

Brenda is survived by her children Rebecca (Caren) Noland and Matthew Noland, stepson Treavis Poynter, and granddaughter Rylee Noland. She is also survived by her sisters Madalan (Robert) Bills and Alisha (Eric) Cottrill, and her nieces and nephews Bobby Bills, Logan (Kayle) Cottrill, Marissa Cottrill, Reese Cottrill, and Tasha Jenkins.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Jack Poynter, her father Dale (Bud) Jenkins, her brother Dale W. Jenkins (Buddy), and her mother Mary E. Bills.

Brenda’s kindness, love, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that will forever be remembered.
