William L. Dickel
William L. Dickel, 83, of Mineral Wells, passed away Dec. 31, 2024, at Cedar Grove Assisted Living. He was born Jan. 21, 1941, a son to the late Edward L. and Carrie L. Ogden Dickel.
He was a graduate from Parkersburg High School and then served our country honorably in the United States Army, Airborne Division. He later worked as a lineman for Monpower. He loved gardening and sharing his garden goods with his neighbors.
Left to cherish William’s memory include his son, Gerald “Jerry” L. Dickel (Debbie) of Dandridge, TN; two grandchildren, Travis Dickel of Williamstown and Zachary Dickel (Katie) of Fairmont; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Elizabeth Dickel of Fairmont; five siblings, Johnny Dickel (Sharon) of Parkersburg, Thomas Dickel of Parkersburg, Michael Dickel (Christine) of Kanawha, Janice Marion (Jim) of Mineral Wells, and Karen Hughes of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Raymond Scott Dickel; four brothers, Robert, Hubert, James, and Richard Dickel; a sister, JoAnn Liggett; and his ex-wife, Doris Jean O’Dell Dickel Knight.
Per his final wishes, there will be no public services. However, if you would like to honor William, please consider sending donations in his honor to the West Virginia Circle of Hope, American Cancer Society, or Housecalls Hospice.
