Jeff A. Horner

Jeff A. Horner, 68, of Parkersburg, WV, completed his race with cancer and received his checkered flag in heaven on January 12, 2025. He is the son of the late Elmer and Lynda Henthorn Horner.

Jeff will be remembered by his ornery personality as well as his love for classic cars and dirt track racing. He enjoyed participating in car shows and attending races all over the area making forever friends with other enthusiasts. Jeff had a way of bringing a smile to so many faces and never met a stranger. Jeff hosted many car shows to help local cancer patients over the years and he found joy in helping people in any way he could.

Jeff retired in 2020 from owning Big A Muffler. He was a very talented mechanic who also worked at several other muffler shops in the area. He also retired from Storcks Bakery upon their closing.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Crystal, children Patrick Horner (Kim) and Staci Wilson all of Parkersburg, grandchildren Dylan (Makayla), Madison, Chloe, Matthew, Lincoln and Landyn and great grandson Alex. He is also survived by his sisters Billie Long, Cathy McDaniel, and Toni Thompson. Brothers in law Rick Kinney (Teresa), Phil Kinney (Gaila), Sisters in law Sherri Sterling and Amy Sutton (John) several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Chuck and Jennifer Cox, Terry Burner, Bob Edwards, Tara Patterson, Wayne George, Doug Yates and the entire Carpenter Family. Jeff had so many friends who meant the world to him.

In addition to his parents he is proceeded in death by father and mother in law Rex and Evelyn Kinney, son in law Josh Wilson, Brothers in law Conrad Sterling, Joe Long, and John McDaniel and his brother Phil Nicholson.

In keeping Jeff’s wishes there will be no funeral services but a celebration of life at a later time. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank Lexi and Danielle at CCMC for their exceptional care during Jeff’s final laps as well as Dr Hussain and his nurses and staff in the Oncology department at CCMC for taking such great care of him during his fight.
