Eva Jane (Life) Thorn

Eva Jane (Life) Thorn, born April 16, 1942, passed away peacefully at Eagle Point surrounded by her family on Oct. 18, 2024. Eva is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Emery Wayne Thorn, Sr.

Eva was proceeded in death by her parents, Pearl and Ruby (Silvis) Life, Sr., and her siblings John Life, Peggy Johnson and Charles Life.

Eva loved her family dearly, she is survived by her daughters and son, Jessica (Neil) Nichols, Emery (Terry) Thorn, Jr., and Robin (Brad) Lott. She enjoyed hearing all about what her grandchildren were doing, Crystal (Benjamin) Staats, Cheryl (Phill) Brinkman, Leslie (Aaron) Tingler, Clinton (Cassandra) Lott, Kelly (Douglas) Casto Jr., Jackie (Jeremy) Griffith, Rachel (Levi) Amos. As well as great grandchildren, Janet, Grace and Hazel Staats, Brennen and Kyler Tingler, Emma, Douglas and Rose Casto, and the newest member Emery Griffith. Adalynne Baldwin, Ayden and Ava Lott, Nikolas, Kairi, Seraphina and Lilyanna Amos.

She is also survived by four siblings Pearl Life, Jr., Tony Life, Pamela Jones, and Janice Jones.

She was a member of Lubeck United Methodist Church. She worked at G.C. Murphy downtown Parkersburg and as a crossing guard in two locations in Vienna, WV. She enjoyed her work career at the Grand Central Mall that was spent in one store location but housed The Diamond, Stone & Thomas and finally Elder-Beerman. She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping with family. Trips to the mountains whether it was Seneca, the Smokey's, or Walt Disney World in Florida didn't make a difference; she enjoyed it all.

Eva loved being around her family, it was her greatest joy in life. Although Eva has left this world, she is leaving behind a legacy that will be carried on in all who had the pleasure of loving her and knowing her.

Services will be Wednesday 2 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 12-2 p.m.
